A quality wig needs to be treated as such if it is going to last you as long as it should. And what can sometimes happen, especially with real hair wigs, is tangling. Tangling can be a terrible thing, especially if it isn’t taken care of right away. The longer you wait to untangle, the more damage can be done to the wig. So, it is important that every night you comb through your wig to get out the tangles.
You want to use the right kind of comb, not one that is going to pull the strands apart and cause split ends. Brushes in general should be avoided, but a good comb can really get out tangles without pulling the hair apart all together. This is especially true if you are getting a blend of real hair and synthetic, as synthetic can be ruined by the wrong kind of brush.
With 100% human hair wigs, you can use untangling sprays to help wet the hair and cause the strands to loosen, making it easier for you to brush out any knots or issues. The more often you take care of tangles immediately, the less of an issue you’ll have and the longer your wig will last.
